The role:
We have an exciting opening for an Underwriting Support Assistant to join our Leeds-based team. As an Underwriting Support Assistant, you will collaborate with the Professional Management Risks team to deliver exceptional underwriting services to underwriters and brokers in the UK. This role involves active participation in a small team, being proactive, and offering assistance to brokers and underwriters across various business sectors.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing and maintaining high-quality technical underwriting support for the social welfare renewal team
- Accurately inputting data into relevant underwriting systems in a timely manner
- Interacting with brokers as needed
- Fostering strong working relationships within the team and wider business
- Requesting and reviewing survey reports, and communicating risk requirements to brokers
- Managing diary items and following up on responses
- Chasing outstanding renewal information from brokers via phone and email
- Handling internal and external inquiries via email and phone
- Supporting the team and wider business with ad hoc projects
Key requirements:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency in using various in-house and MS systems
- Numerical and analytical skills, with a grade A-C in Maths GCSE or equivalent
- Willingness to pursue CII qualifications, fully funded and supported by the company
- Interest in building a career in the insurance sector
