The Opportunity

As an Underwriting Support Assistant, you will be part of our highly respected renewals department, handling a variety of interesting Social Welfare and Charity policies. Our risks range from foster care to drug and alcohol rehabilitation centres to schools for children with learning disabilities.

As a key member of our team, you will work closely with other departments to build relationships both internally and externally, delivering an exceptional service that keeps customers at the heart of all key decisions. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong commercial underwriting experience who wants to work in a forward-thinking, global business with a real people-first approach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical underwriting support to the social welfare renewals team, maintaining a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Accurately and timely input data into relevant underwriting systems, ensuring seamless workflow.
  • Liaise with brokers as needed, building strong relationships and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Help build and maintain strong working relationships within the team and the wider business, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Request and review survey reports, issuing risk requirements to brokers and managing diary items.
  • Follow up on outstanding renewal information with brokers via phone and email, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Deal with internal and external enquiries by email and telephone, providing prompt and accurate responses.
  • Assist the team and wider business with ad-hoc projects, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn.
Requirements
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong numerical and analytical ability, with a good understanding of mathematical concepts and principles.
  • Ability to develop a full understanding and capability of using our in-house systems, with a willingness to learn and adapt.
