High-cost Drug Administrator

The Pharmacy department is looking to recruitment a methodical, highly motivated administrator to join the team as our new High-Cost Drug Administrator on a part-time basis (Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays).
In this role you will be responsible for assisting the High-Cost Drug Co-ordinator in the provision and maintenance of the Homecare Medication service to patients and assisting in the co-ordination of information relating to recharging high cost drugs and funding issues.

- Assist with recording and supplying the full information required by Finance and the Commissioners for the recharge of high cost drugs.
- Assist with maintaining good communication links with Trust Finance and Health Care Professionals in the Community.
- Assist with maintaining data base for recording information required for drug funding.
- Liaise with Finance, Commissioners and Health Authority on drug funding issues.
- Assist in the provision of expenditure reporting.
- Assist with the scheduling of specialised medication delivery to patient's homes.
- Assist in problem solving when necessary by liaising with prescriber, pharmacist or specialist nurse, healthcare providers and patients.
- Request funding and ensure arrangements are in place before setting up homecare.
- Assist with the liaison with Commissioners to chase outstanding funding requests.
- Check that prescriptions are clinically screened for home delivery medication.
- Inform homecare providers of new patients.
- Assist with ordering prescriptions for homecare patients in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply from the homecare provider.
- Raise and send the orders to the homecare provider.
- Assist with recording and sending required patient progress updates to the Commissioners.
- Ensure the computer and manual records are maintained to provide Finance with the correct information for the Payment by Results report.
