Urgent requirements for an Investigation Officer to work on a 12 month contract in Manchester

To assist in with the complex investigations, including evidence gathering in the form of outside enquiries relevant to the investigation, to gather intelligence; assist in file preparation and submissions for use in court; utilise specialist knowledge and skills as required by the Unit

**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct investigations, obtaining and reviewing all the necessary evidence such as statements, interviews, third party material.
  • Assist others with the process of dealing with detained persons
  • Work closely with victims and witnesses to keep them updated on crime status
  • Use a range of GMP systems to conduct research, interrogate and update information
  • Prepare reports, complete prosecution files, itemise witness lists and exhibits for court, HQ, PPU and other agencies, ensuring timeliness and quality of the information provided
  • Ensure property procedures are followed, including the appropriate recording, labelling and storage
  • To liaise and work in partnership with other agencies relevant to the investigation
  • Assist with the execution of warrants and undertaking searches
  • Where necessary, attend court and give evidence if required
  • Comply with National Crime Recording Standard and minimum investigative requirements
