Role Outline


Green-tech is the UKs largest landscaping supplier, providing quality landscaping materials and wholesale garden supplies for landscaping contractors, architects, designers and landowners.


The role of Warehouse Operative is to assist in the smooth running of the warehouse, carefully maintaining stock control and ensuring all goods are packed for delivery or prepared for collection in a suitable manner.

It requires an individual who has a keen eye for detail and can work with accuracy and precision.

In a typical working week, you will carry out a variety of different jobs including; Picking & Packing, Receiving Goods and Loading deliveries.


Main Responsibilities
Reporting to the Despatch Manager and Warehouse & Production Manager you will expected to:

Goods-In

  • To promptly assess and process inward deliveries.
  • Ensure that the appropriate paperwork is in place (confirm the goods were ordered, with a PO number, and that the delivery note inwards is correct)
  • Carry out goods inwards checks are completed (i.e. quantity, quality, appropriate state)
  • Ensure that goods are off loaded and stored promptly and effectively
  • Book goods into stock in the appropriate storage location.
  • Complete the necessary paperwork
  • Receive deliveries, unloading, and organising them within the warehouse.
  • Check and process all returned goods.

Goods Out

  • Pick, pack and prepare goods for despatch in an accurate, timely, safe manner in line with company and carrier policies.
  • Loading of delivery vehicles out.
  • Shrinkwrap pallets using the pallet wrap machines.
  • Strapping pallets and packages using the banding machine.
  • Liaise with the despatch office with workrelated issues.

Production

  • Complete production orders and accurate subassembly of component parts to finished products
  • Prepare subassembly items
  • Produce precut items e.g., belting, duck mats, root barrier rolls, cut lengths of piping, and mesh cutting.

Company vehicles

  • Record any mileage if using Company vehicles
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed and handed in
  • Complete daily forklift check list if qualified
  • Complete company vans daily checklist if qualified and applicable
  • Prepare company vans for deliveries

General Duties/Health & Safety

  • Report any accidents, damages, errors or hazards.
  • Correct and safe use of machinery and tools, adhering to all guidance on the use of PPE.
  • Awareness and adherence to Company H&S policy.
  • Clean and tidy the warehouse and yard when possible
  • Perform general forklift duties.
  • Stock checking
  • Deal with customer collections
  • Liaising with delivery drivers, dispatch and sales personnel
  • Ensuring stock levels are maintained, identifying low stock levels of products and packaging materials.

Skills Required:

  • Be able to communicate effectively with Supervisors and Coworkers
  • Ability to multitask and work is a fastpaced environment.
  • Work well as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse role is not essential, but it might help you find your feet a little quicker.
  • Good Literacy and numeracy.
  • Current Counterbalance Forklift Licence is advantageous, but training can be provided to the right individual. Due to the location of the office own transport will be required.
