Lancashire Teaching Hospitals is the regional centre for neurosurgery and we are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic team leaders to join our amazing neurosurgical theatre team.

We are seeking dedicated and dynamic individuals who want to make a difference to our neurosurgical patients.

We are looking for experienced scrub practitioners who have skills within neurosurgery and have the right leadership qualities to support the team of band 5s and support workers.

We seek committed and flexible individuals who can demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and has outstanding clinical skills. You must be an effective communicator and possess great organisational skills.

As an experienced neuro scrub theatre practitioner you will demonstrate excellent knowledge and skills and be a role model for all staff in the department.

As a team leader you will be proactive and visible in order to build and form effective relationships with your team and with the wider MDT.

  • Assist and support the Clinical Manager in the safe and effective management of the service including management of staff, facilities and associated systems and processes.
  • Communicate all relevant information to the multidisciplinary team internally and with external organisations as required, to ensure seamless care.
  • Acts as a role model presenting a positive image of self, the team and the organisation.
  • Be responsible for the delivery and coordination of care, making optimal use of operating sessions. Identify potential bottlenecks and facilitate smooth patient flow through the department
  • Set, monitor and maintain standards of care to improve the patient experience and outcome of care.
  • Proactively manage risk and maintain patient safety, conforming to health, safety and security legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines.
