COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT OFFICER


As Community Engagement Officer, you will play a vital role in the development of our mentoring scheme and series of masterclasses for business owners in Brixton.

The data that you gather will ensure that the programme serves the local business community in the best possible way, helping us to identify and achieve our Impact goals.


This role provides an exciting opportunity to get involved with a social enterprise working to make real social impact in Brixton.

Our mission is to empower individuals and communities to galvanize positive change to their local area through the expertise they gain through our programme of masterclasses and mentoring.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Designing a survey to determine the key needs of business owners in Brixton, gearing it towards identifying key Impact Goals for the programme.
  • Organising and conducting warm and personable interviews with local business owners, asking questions to establish their needs. Listening openly and empathetically.
  • Effectively managing the timeline of this research programme, ensuring that interviews are long enough to gather key information but short enough to conduct on a broad scale.
  • Adapting and adjusting the survey in communication with the Programme Manager, to ensure that the data gathered is as relevant as possible to the development of the wider programme.
  • Analysing and presenting data gathered to the Programme Manager and key partners, confidently and concisely sharing insights to help shape the development of the programme.
  • Creating and delivering a communications plan to connect with the local community, ensuring a high rate of engagement in the project. Utilising social media and other channels to raise awareness of the project and maintain high levels of engagement.
  • Marketing the wider programme to local business owners, ensuring that they are fully aware of the key dates of the programme, and how they can get involved.
  • Raising the profile and awareness of Impact Brixton and key partners, with a view to widening participation and reach amongst the local business community.
  • Ensuring that the programme is delivered with diversity and inclusion at its heart, endeavouring to meet all access needs.

Job Types:
Part-time, Fixed term contract, Freelance

Contract length: 6 weeks

Part-time hours: 40 per week

Salary:
£15.00 per hour
