Welcome to an exciting opportunity at a well-known Education company in East Grinstead

Our client is on the lookout for a Head of IT to be part of their team permanently. After an initial period of 3 months, the Head of IT will have the flexibility to work remotely for 2 days every week.

About the Head of IT role:

We need someone to take charge of a range of tasks in IT Operations, Project Management & Support.

The ideal candidate:
The perfect fit should ideally have experience in an educational environment. You must be capable of leading a small support team independently, possess strong communication skills, and be quick to adapt to changes. An innate ability to solve complex tech issues is a must, along with proficiency in managing online platforms and websites. Knowledge of various web technologies is crucial, and a knack for learning new ones is a bonus.

Responsibilities:

  • Assistance to students and staff by offering technical support through various channels while adhering to SLAs
  • Managing WordPress sites, Plesk, AWS for website administration
  • Handling database administration tasks using MySQL, FileMaker
  • Moodle Administration
  • Leading Project Management endeavors
  • Managing 3rd party suppliers
  • Identifying areas for enhancing online platforms
  • Supporting the development and testing of new online systems and academic software

Required Skills:

  • Solid grasp of IT systems and services, including internal and hosted systems management. Experience with AWS is a plus
  • Proficiency in Project Management with knowledge of agile methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients and stakeholders
  • Understanding of CRM, workflow, and ERP systems
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems like Moodle
  • Proficiency with Office 365 tools and platforms like Teams, SharePoint, Power Automate
  • Technical understanding of Content Management Systems
  • Knowledge of customer databases and software systems
  • Understanding of web languages like HTML, SQL, PHP
