Job summary

We currently have an exciting secondment opportunity for a band 4 Educational assistant to support the Learning and Development Lead within Combined Community and Acute Care Group

Are you interested in developing your skills and knowledge in education? Do you want experience of service in training and development? This secondment will give you the opportunity to gain these skills and broaden your knowledge base.

Main duties of the job

The role will require the post holder to be responsible for the provision of identified learning opportunities for all grades of staff. To also plan, implement and deliver training including clinical skills and be responsible for the provision of and access to specific mandatory training within the care group including delivering moving and handling and basic life support.

This will include processes which support the efficient administration of training such as monitoring training compliance.

The Combined Community and Acute Care Group are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to assist the Learning and Development lead in the exciting role of Clinical Educator Assistant. The successful applicant will be supported to use their own initiative working with the registered practitioner in clinical skills, teaching and assessments.

This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for the maximum period of 12 months. Where there is potential, the secondment/fixed term contract may finish early, or in the first instance, the secondment/fixed term contract may be extended due to the internal/external secondment of the substantive post holder. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts and secondments in relation to the substantive post holder.

Please also note any secondment must first be agreed with your current line manager.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Maths and English Language GCSE grade C/4 or above or equivalent qualification/experience Diploma level 4 qualification in appropriate subject OR A level / Level 3 qualification in relevant subjects and demonstrable experience in a relevant area Health & Social Care, education and training

Desirable

oA teaching and assessing qualification TTWA, CAP or equivalent qualification/experience.

Experience

Essential

Relevant experience in a healthcare setting Experience of teaching to groups of people including planning of the sessions

Evidence of professional development.

Desirable

Moving & Handling Key Trainer Resuscitation Key Trainer ECG recording PALMS administration Competent in phlebotomy, and cannulation skills.
