The Sheffield Gender Identity Clinic (GIC) at Porterbrook is a service for people with concerns about their gender identity. People who attend the service may be seeking a range of treatment options including psychosocial transitional support and/or medical treatment to alleviate gender identity distress. The Sheffield GIC is a nationally commissioned multidisciplinary team, comprised of medical and nursing staff and a range of allied health professionals. Main duties of the job

The role of the clinical administrator within the Gender Identity Clinic is an integral part of the whole administrative function and will provide an effective and efficient support service to the multi-disciplinary staff team (s), performing specific tasks and duties as directed by the Admin Co-ordinator. The post holder will be expected to provide administrative support to nominated individuals and/or part of the service but provide cover amongst other colleagues to fill gaps and to ensure continuity of service.

It is essential that the post holder can exercise initiative suitable to the role and is fully supportive to other colleagues in the team. The clinical administrator will be responsible for:

o Providing dedicated administration/secretarial support to medical staff within the serviceo Providing administration/secretarial support to other clinical staff groups o Processing referrals or transfer, ensuring associated activity on the patient information system and Outlook and any produce any related correspondence accurately and timelyo Management of clinics of across the service, including scheduling and cancelling appointments and ensuring associate correspondence is accurate and timely

Job responsibilities

The clinical administrator will be responsible for:

Providing dedicated administration/secretarial support to medical staff within the service Providing administration/secretarial support to other clinical staff groups Processing referrals or transfers, ensuring associated activity on the patient information system and Outlook and any produce any related correspondence accurately and timely Management of clinics of across the service, including scheduling and cancelling appointments and ensuring associate correspondence is accurate and timely Typing and transcribing clinical letters and reports. Supporting and services MDT meetings, including minute taking.

o Wide range of admin skills, including minute taking o Ability to prioritise workload and manage own workload. o Ability to work flexibly with colleagues to meet the needs of the service.

Training and Qualifications

Essential

oGood standard of education at GCSE level or higher. oGCSE in English language or equivalent. oRSA 3 Word Processing/Typing or equivalent. oTraining to Vocational Level 3 in business admin or equivalent experience.

oPrevious admin/secretarial experience gained in a similar role.
