Detailed job description

and main responsibilities Patient-Centred Care: Provide a patient-focused and clinically competent pharmacy service to inpatient medical wards. This involves working directly with patients and contributing to their care. Team Development: Work with and develop rotational pharmacists, technicians, and trainees within the medical directorate, including supporting their professional and clinical skills. Clinical Guidance and Practice: Contribute to the development of clinical guidance and ensure that pharmacy practices align with national guidelines. Implement cost-saving measures, develop and review patient group directions (PGDs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs) where necessary. Integration and Collaboration: Integrate secondary care services within the broader NHS Dorset Healthcare system. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and contribute to the overall patient care strategy.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

Master's degree in Pharmacy or equivalent Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy or evidence of equivalent experience Non-Medical Prescribing qualification or prepared to train for this Pharmacist registration with General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)

Desirable criteria

Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent

Experience

2 years NHS hospital experience Clinical audit / Drug Use Review projects
