What is the Technical and Safety Industrial Placement Opportunity at Heysham Power Station?
We're recruiting for students to join us in the Quality Management Group at our Heysham site.

In this group you would have the opportunity to get involved in industrial and fire safety as well as understand and support our emergency arrangements.


This fantastic opportunity can help provide you to build experience within nuclear operations whilst making a tangible contribution to the productivity and performance of nuclear within the UK.

Where you'll work:


You will be based at Heysham Nuclear Power station in Lancashire and you will have the opportunity to work cross functionally with other departments, allowing you to get a comprehensive picture of how a nuclear power station is run.


What you'll need to join the team:

  • On track to achieve or will have already achieved a 2:2 undergraduate degree or 2:2 postgraduate qualification in an Engineering or Science discipline or Emergency Management.
  • An interest in working in a highlyregulated / safetyconscious industry
  • Some basic knowledge of nuclear reactor design, operations and safety
  • Good interpersonal skills, including the confidence to approach and influence others
  • Ability to communicate clearly and accurately, both written and orally

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
