The Role & Team

  • This is a key role in delivery of topquality financial support to the organisation. The role will provide a professional and proactive finance leadership to management, services, partners and audit. Ensuring that the processes and systems are used to their full capacity and potential.
  • You will be working within the Systems, Governance and Internal Control Team which provides a broad range of functions including, Income management, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Systems development and support.

_Key areas of work include:
_


  • Supporting and championing compliance with governance and controls across the council's finance operations.
  • To take a lead on work involving continuous improvement of processes and maximising use of systems to their full capacity improving systems governance and financial controls.
  • To be responsible for ensuring the maintenance of month end reconciliations and Business as Usual processes around income management and the future development of these.
  • Liaising with ICT to develop and resolve systems operational issues with income management interfaces and other business critical finance systems.
  • Contribute to the development of financial systems to improve the effectiveness of financial data and advise on and support the delivery of service improvements and initiatives.
  • This is a multidisciplinary role that will provide you with an opportunity to develop your skills. You will have access to training and support to progress your career in Finance.

About You

  • You should have a passion for continuous improvement in processes and maximising use of systems to their full capacity, are an analytical thinker with strong problemsolving skills. With an aptitude for assessing current business processes and identify ways to improve delivery using technology and people.
  • You will need strong ICT skills to manage & analyse data, able to work to a high standard of accuracy with attention to detail and enjoy using your initiative to plan and prioritise work.
