We have a fantastic opportunity for an Apprentice Accounts Assistant to join our central finance team based at our vibrant Head Office in Motherwell, Eurocentral.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a school leaver who is looking to kick start their career, gain industry recognised accounting qualifications whilst working for a dynamic and growing organisation.

You don't need experience as full training and mentorship will be provided but you must be able to demonstrate willingness to learn, good timekeeping, good level of IT and administration skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Most importantly we are looking for some with the right attitude Due to location a driving licence would be advantageous as public transport is limited.


What you will be doing

  • Prepare and process bank payments as required
  • Daily allocation of bank payments received/made
  • Reconcile bank transactions daily highlighting any issues to management
  • On a weekly basis review sales ledger using aged debt analysis spreadsheet to identify aged debt. Escalate any payment issues to the Management Accountant
  • Monthly stock check and other month end reconciliations
  • Review incoming mail and distribute to relevant colleagues
  • Processing of monthly credit card statements
  • Processing of colleague expense claims

What you will need

  • Minimum Nat 5's in Maths and English
  • Passion for numbers and a career in finance/accounting
  • Commitment and willingness to the apprenticeship
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Team player and muck in mentality
  • Computer literate
