We have an opportunity for you to join our management administrative team at The Redwoods Centre, Shrewsbury, to provide effective and efficient administrative and secretarial support to our Service Managers.


You must be proactive and able to work on your own initiative with experience of supporting senior managers with diary management, general admin and notetaking.

You must be able to work flexibly and be a team player.


The post holder will provide an effective and efficient administrative service to the Directorate Management Team for Mental Health Services.

The post holder will show a willingness to assist others, be a key member of the team with a requirement to work in other administrative areas as appropriate as directed by their line manager.


Working within the service can at times be a stressful environment, by way of telephone calls, visitors, meetings and numerous daily urgencies.

The post holder requires the ability to work under pressure, with conflicting demands at times.

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Directorate Management Team.
  • Provide a confidential and efficient word processing service, including the preparation of meeting agendas and notes, letters, and reports, from a variety of sources including manuscripts, audio etc.
  • Open, sort and distribute incoming post, prioritising and screening urgent correspondence ensuring it receives appropriate attention / direction.
  • Undertake general office duties as required including filing, photocopying, faxing, scanning etc.
  • Inputting of relevant data on the e-rostering system e.g. annual leave, sick leave; and to deal with any related queries.
  • Logging calls with the Trust's Service Desks for any I.T issues, building repairs, works etc.
  • Ordering of equipment and stationery on the Trusts E-Procurement System in order to maintain stock levels.
  • Prioritise and manage own workload to meet the needs and requirements of the service demands.
  • Work within parameters of established procedures and to seek advice when necessary.
  • Provide cover for other administrative staff within the service as required.
  • Follow policies relevant to own role.
  • Is guided by Standard Operating Procedures, good practice and established precedents.
  • Occasional exposure to distressing or emotional circumstances.
