Job Summary

Come join our team at CUH Theatres as a Qualified Nurse to work as a Perioperative Practitioner, focusing on Anaesthetic, Scrub, Recovery, and PACU. If selected, you will have the chance to enroll in a funded PgCert in Perioperative care as part of the MSc in Perioperative Medicine program offered by University College London.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the Anaesthetist
  • Preparing anaesthetic equipment
  • Providing comprehensive care to patients

To achieve the PgCert, you will need to complete the following modules:

  • The Anaesthetic Practitioner module
  • The Landscape of Perioperative Medicine module
  • Quality and Safety and Leadership in Perioperative Care modules
  • Choose one: Post-anaesthetic Care, Surgical first assistant (SFA), or Critical Care

Throughout your training, you'll work different shifts, including weekends and nights, to gain practical experience in various clinical settings under the guidance of experienced supervisors.

Further development opportunities include enrolling in our band 5 Development Pathway, Immediate Life Support Courses, and an ILM Level 2 Award in Leadership and Team Development.
