Job Title: Building Safety & Compliance Manager

Hybrid working 4 days office

Salary: up to £60,000

Role Overview:

We have a fantastic opportunity to become part of a leading housing association in East London. We are looking for a skilled Building Safety & Compliance Manager to oversee and improve our Building Safety and Compliance services. This role plays a vital role in ensuring all residential projects in the area are fully compliant with Building and Fire Safety regulations. The ideal candidate will ensure timely inspections and monitoring of contracts to uphold the highest safety standards for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead authority on building safety to ensure compliance with regulations and legislation.
  • Ensure all properties meet health and safety requirements.
  • Manage the new Building Safety regime.
  • Develop fire safety strategies.
  • Monitor regulatory inspection programs.
  • Conduct compliance inspections.
  • Provide performance reports aligning with targets and budgets.
  • Advise the Executive and Board on sector developments and regulations.
  • Coordinate contractors and service contracts related to Building Safety and Compliance.
  • Supervise work completion by staff or contractors.
  • Prepare tender documents for maintenance contracts.
  • Maintain asset management systems.
  • Collaborate with the new homes team for project planning.
  • Implement efficient procurement practices.
  • Create annual budgets for maintenance and service costs.
  • Drive health and safety initiatives.
  • Follow up on compliance inspection outcomes.
  • Maintain comprehensive safety records.
  • Work closely with the Asset & Facilities Manager.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Years of experience in Building/Fire Safety and compliance in residential management.
  • Background in Construction, Project Management, or Building Safety.
  • Knowledge of current and future Building Safety requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills in property management.
  • Understanding of Customer Service metrics.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Project management expertise.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in public procurement and negotiation.
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and networking skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Skilled presenter for inclusive meetings.
  • Leadership and motivational capabilities.
  • Proficient in handling complex documents.
  • Knowledge of property management software and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Flexible and innovative approach to work.
