Overview

The Service Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting the Service Department Team Leader in various tasks at UK locations and show sites. Responsibilities include repairing and upgrading rental inventory, both mechanical and electronic.

Qualifications

  • An Electronics background with advanced soldering skills on SMD printed circuit boards is desirable.
  • Understanding of repairing automated lighting fixtures in a warehouse setting is preferred.
  • Capability to solder fine pitch integrated circuits.
  • Ability to interpret electronic schematics.
  • Skilled in fault finding and repairing PCB's to component level manually.
  • Experience in repairing SMPS, ballasts, and complex digital boards.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment while adhering to Health and Safety Rules.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow within the company.
  • Reliable, accountable, and proactive with good computer skills.
  • Respectful towards others, supportive of a friendly work environment, and open to new challenges.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration and teamwork.
  • Adherence to PRG Company values.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize repairs based on utilization and upcoming orders under the guidance of the Service Department Team Leader.
  • Identify electronic and mechanical faults in products for effective repair.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors for best practices and update test procedures.
  • Update Service software systems for accurate record-keeping.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair equipment.
  • Assist in training and mentoring team members.
  • Conduct regulatory compliance testing as needed.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills and initiative.
  • Stay updated on the latest fixtures and technology.
  • Adhere to LEAN processes and maintain cleanliness in work areas.
  • Participate in stock cycle counts and ensure safe lifting practices.
  • Flexible to work at different PRG locations and customer sites on short notice.
  • Compliance with company policies and procedures while carrying out duties.

The Service Engineer may be required to take on additional tasks not listed here, aligned with the role's general profile.
