OBM is searching for a Multi Skilled Quayside Operative to join ASCO Teesworks in Teesside, Middlesborough.

The selected candidate will carry out various quayside functions along with the base operative role, such as Chargehand, Checker, Tugmaster Operator, and Forklift Driver as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Handle cargo and vessel loading/unloading following company procedures
  • Assist in coordinating crane lifting operations
  • Manage transportation and logistics of lifting equipment
  • Ensure compliance of all equipment with regulations
  • Participate in the coordination between lifting operations and other related areas
  • Inspect cargo delivered to the Gantry as per best practices
  • Identify ways to enhance service delivery and propose process improvements
  • Conduct Live Safe Interventions (LSI) and maintain records
  • Maintain a positive company image through top-notch service and customer relations
  • Adhere to formal procedures, instructions, and safety standards consistently
  • Available to work at different locations if needed
  • Follow all site health and safety regulations
  • Flexible to work additional hours based on operational needs
  • Perform other duties as required within training and capabilities

Minimum Qualifications

  • OPITO Banksman/Slinger Stage 3/4
  • Forklift Truck licence
  • Tug Master training

Minimum Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours)

  • Build and maintain positive work relationships
  • Understanding of Oil and Gas best practices
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficient in using computers
  • Knowledge of IOSH Working Safety
  • Awareness of Dangerous Goods (COSHH)
  • Knowledge of drilling tools and equipment
  • Cargo Handling - warehouse
  • Understanding of Manual Handling
  • Ready 4 Road certification
  • Experience as a Vehicle Banksman/Spotter
  • Knowledge of Oil Spill Awareness
