Job Description

At DPD we continuously look to innovate and evolve our business so we are delighted to launch our brand new Trainee Shift Manager Academy. This Academy is part of a wider strategic depot network infrastructure plan. We are seeking resilient, dynamic and enthusiastic candidates who demonstrate leadership potential to be able to take our business forward.

Continuing your career on the Trainee Shift Manager Academy you will have a comprehensive 12 month development programme, you will develop your management skills within this fast-paced delivery environment in all positions that report to an Operations Manager, including 2 month rotations on AM (nights), PM (afternoons) and Dispatch (Mornings) sections in your base depot.

You will be supported by a comprehensive induction programme and full training to gain exposure to all areas of running a successful parcel delivery operation, including people management, planning, transport legislation, security, HR and health and safety in a 24/ Business. This is a fantastic opportunity that will provide you with genuine development and career progression opportunities.

After successful completion of the 12 month Trainee Shift Manager Academy you will be appointed to a Shift Manager role where you will have the opportunity to utilise and further develop the skills and knowledge you have gained

Qualifications

As the successful candidate, you will be educated to A Level or equivalent standard. We would also expect;

  • Be resilient and enthusiastic
  • Be flexible to accommodate the high-volume nature of the role
  • Hold a full drivers licence
  • Have previous supervisory or management experience.
  • Be open to relocation.
  • Demonstrate the core DPD DNA values of Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Caring and Accountability.
  • Be able to work days, nights and weekends in a demanding and high pressure environment.
