_Summary of main tasks and principal responsibilities:_

  • Attend to the physical and personal needs of clients including, dressing, washing, bathing, continence care, assisting to eat and drink and other personal needs in accordance with individuals care programme.
  • Ensure the formulation and review of care programmes as directed by the manager.
  • Attend to the social and emotional needs of clients through in-house activities and outings in accordance with the individuals care programme.
  • Promote and maintain independence, in accordance with the individuals care programme.
  • Demonstrate respect for individual choice, dignity and privacy.
  • Make sure all keyworker duties are carried out by staff.
  • Keep records of care plans, risk assessments and any other care records or charts. Ensure effective staff handover at the beginning and end of each shift with staff. Making any arrangements for resident's health like GP, nurse, hospital appointments contact with families.
  • As directed by the Manager ensure standards as laid down within Parklands are maintained.
  • Prepare and administer medication for clients and maintain records.
  • Provide where appropriate induction and supervision as directed by the manager.
  • In the absence of the Manager, Deputy Manager, take responsibility for the smooth running of the home.
  • Having training, supervision, appraisals and support from deputy manager/Home manger.
  • Participate in client reviews.
  • Undertake NVQ level 2 and 3 in social care.
  • Carry out any other duty to help with the efficient running of the home and the creation of an appropriate caring environment. This may include cleaning tasks for you and other staff members.
