The SCA function operates as a multi-disciplinary team of experts driving efficiency and innovation.


As Aviation Security Officer, your focus will be to support the delivery of Aviation Security outcomes across the Northern Region, with specific focus on threat identification, assessment, analysis, and response.

You will also focus on the creation and delivery of high-quality MI data to support security decisions, and to present to senior teams across the business.

In this role, you'll report to the Regulated Aviation Security Manager.


To meet with security clearance requirements for this role you must be a UK National or an EU National with 6 years unbroken residence in the UK.

You must also hold a valid passport.

This is a part time role and preferred hours would be Monday, Tuesday plus half day Friday.

ABOUT THE JOB:

  • Ensure security handbooks, manuals and other similar documentation are constantly maintained with new regulation and that security ops notices are effectively communicated throughout the business, with accurate records kept
  • Understanding patterns in trending security data, and effectively extrapolate where challenges may develop
  • Supporting the Aviation Security team in building Security data presentation material at Safety Action Groups, Safety Board, and to senior leaders from across the business
  • You will work to assist the Regulated Aviation Security Manager in the planning of security audits and will be required to follow up any audits formally for closure, as well as conducting onsite and remote security audits with our global partners
  • Ensure that we maintain an accurate record of aviation security incidents (including passenger disruption), by assessing and categorizing reports for investigation or action
  • Leading on ensuring we remain compliant with all regulations with respect of recruitment, vetting and screening
  • Ensuring that internal and external stakeholders are provided with the most relevant and up to date information to ensure they are compliant with our regulated requirements
  • Supporting the delivery of security projects as required
  • Supporting the delivery of the Security Culture and Insider Threat programs
  • Maintaining the administration of the Customer Banning Order Framework.

ABOUT YOU

  • Strong written communication skills, particularly the preparation of procedural documents, manuals, formal reports, and correspondence with external agencies along with strong presentation skills
  • Highest levels of personal integrity and the ability to control highly sensitive material.
  • The ability to challenge upwards, with passion and conviction.
  • The ability to articulate complex ideas in a way which is understood to multiple audiences, with confidence, is critical, including stakeholder management at a senior level, both internally and externally
  • Experience of designing and developing high quality MI data.
  • Experience within the aviation sector (commercial or military) in a regulated role.
  • Experience of working to challenging deadlines and in a high pressure environment.
  • Strong understanding of risk and control methodologies and audit and monitoring principles
  • Role requires strong business English, both spoken and written, and will involve international travel
