JOB TITLE:
Fundraising Assistant

WORKING HOURS:35 hours per week

Overall purpose of the role:

To be the first point of contact for Community and Events supporters contacting the charity.

Keeping the fundraising database up to date and producing reports as required, carrying out research and supporting the team with event organisation and delivery including on-the-day support.

Providing admin assistance across the wider Income & Engagement Team as required.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Providing an excellent service to our community and events supporters by ensuring all agreed information and engagement materials are supplied to maximise their fundraising. Responding to requests for further information from individual Supporters as required.
  • Dealing with general fundraising enquiries and directing supporters to relevant colleagues in a timely fashion when required, both within the Community and Events team and the wider Fundraising team.
  • Ensuring that all the relevant data is accurately recorded in the supporters' database; gathering and analysing data for various purposes, including financial data, compiling & preparing reports as required by the team.
  • Carrying out research as directed and assisting colleagues with the development and implementation of supporter engagement, fundraising events and campaigns as required.
  • With the support of the Marketing team, ensuring fundraising materials and event templates are uptodate and branding guidelines are adhered to. Maintaining stock levels of all fundraising collateral and materials.
  • Organising departmental meetings, activities and training events, coordinating diaries and liaising with venues and suppliers.
  • Providing the wider fundraising team with general administration support, including responding to general ad hoc queries and issues arising from colleagues, supporters and all stakeholders, escalating when appropriate.
  • Raising the profile of the charity by being a brand ambassador and always working within the charity values.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications

  • GCSEs: including minimum of Grade C in English and Maths

Experience

  • Experience of delivering excellent customer service
  • Proven experience of working in an administrative or operational role
  • Experience of coordinating meetings, and minute writing
  • Experience of financial administration
  • Demonstrable experience of community fundraising and/or an understanding of the fundraising landscape
  • Proven experience of supporting a small team in a similar environment

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and good attention to detail
  • Good organisational and planning skills with ability to juggle multiple projects in order to meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team player
  • Good practical knowledge of Microsoft Office (Proficient in MS Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Outlook)
