Liverpool, Liverpool, United Kingdom Estendio Full time

About Estendio:

Estendio is a purpose-driven accessibility enterprise committed to reshaping the way neurodivergent individuals experience their educational and professional paths.

Since the introduction of our inaugural product, Present Pal, in 2018, we have empowered students across more than 150 universities in the UK and US to enhance their presentation and communication abilities, expanding our team to 17 members. Building on this achievement, we are excited to unveil our second product, Tailo, an innovative SaaS platform aimed at transforming content accessibility and understanding.

Our Vision:

We envision a world where inclusivity is the norm rather than the exception. With Tailo, we strive to customize the reading experience for every individual, ensuring that content is both accessible and understandable for all. Tailo is poised to disrupt the accessibility landscape, focusing on growth within both educational and professional sectors across Europe and North America.

The Role:

As the Chief Operations and Financial Officer (COO-CFO), you will play a pivotal role in Estendio's next growth phase. This position transcends mere financial management; it is about influencing the future of a company with significant social impact.

Reporting directly to the CEO, your primary responsibilities will initially center on spearheading our Series A fundraising initiatives and overseeing financial strategy. However, a critical aspect of this role is to drive operational excellence as we transition from a minimum viable product to a leading market solution.

Your strategic acumen, coupled with financial and operational expertise, will be vital in steering Estendio through rapid expansion, ensuring we remain agile, efficient, and financially sound.

Candidate Profile:

We are in search of a dynamic leader with a proven history in corporate finance and/or scaling SaaS ventures. You should possess deep knowledge in fundraising, financial oversight, and operational strategy. Your capacity to manage complexity, think strategically, and execute with precision will be crucial as we navigate this exciting growth trajectory. This role requires someone who can harmonize the overarching vision with meticulous attention to detail, driving both financial success and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Strategy and Fundraising

  • Lead fundraising initiatives: Formulate and implement a fundraising strategy that aligns with Estendio's growth goals. Cultivate relationships with investors, manage the due diligence process, and secure funding to support our expansion.
  • Financial oversight: Supervise financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. Ensure financial health and sustainability as we scale.
  • Investor relations: Maintain relationships with current and prospective investors, providing transparent and regular updates on financial performance and strategic milestones.

Operational Leadership

  • Strategic execution: Direct the implementation of Estendio's strategic plan, ensuring that all operational objectives are achieved on schedule and within budget. This includes the successful launch of Tailo in key markets.
  • Team development: Ensure our teams are equipped for success and organized cross-functionally at the appropriate times. Build, lead, and mentor the finance and operations team, ensuring we have the talent and resources necessary to meet our objectives. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Process enhancement: Design and implement processes that improve operational efficiency and scalability, with automation as a priority. Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring operations align with business objectives.

Delivery and Performance Management

  • Product delivery: Oversee the delivery of our product roadmap, ensuring that Tailo and other offerings meet quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Performance metrics: Develop and implement metrics to monitor operational success and drive continuous improvement. Regularly review performance data and make strategic adjustments as necessary.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Fundraising proficiency: Demonstrated experience leading successful fundraising campaigns, particularly in the technology or SaaS sectors.
  • Operational leadership: Extensive experience in operational leadership roles, with a strong record of organizing teams for success and achieving strategic goals on time and within budget.
  • Financial expertise: Solid background in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and investor relations.

Skills:

  • Leadership: Outstanding leadership and team-building capabilities, with the ability to organize, inspire, and motivate a high-performing team.
  • Strategic insight: Ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions that promote business growth.
  • Execution-oriented: Detail-focused and execution-driven, with a relentless commitment to achieving operational excellence.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Technological proficiency: Ability to leverage technology in designing and implementing automated processes to prepare for the company's future.

Why Choose Estendio?

  • Impact: Lead a mission-driven organization that significantly impacts the lives of neurodivergent individuals.
  • Growth opportunities: Play a crucial role in scaling a high-growth company with substantial market potential.
  • Innovative culture: Join a team that values innovation, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary: Competitive salary aligned with market standards, along with attractive equity options.
  • Location: Remote work flexibility.
  • Generous holiday allowance of 33 days (including public holidays).
  • Flexible working hours with a core hours system and a 9-day fortnight work pattern.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Wellbeing cashback plan.
  • Assistive technology support package to ensure accessibility needs are met.
  • The opportunity to collaborate with a dedicated team committed to making a meaningful impact through technology.

This position presents a unique opportunity to lead both the operational and financial strategies of a company poised for significant growth.

If you are a strategic leader passionate about driving operational success and achieving ambitious objectives, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.

Our Recruitment Philosophy:

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are fundamental to our identity and operations.

We welcome applications from all backgrounds and communities and are open to discussing any reasonable adjustments required during the recruitment process.

We also recognize the diverse talents and advantages of being neurodivergent and are particularly welcoming to applicants with neurological differences.

Our recruitment process consists of three stages to ensure we find the right fit for our team.

Stage 1:

We will begin with a brief informal conversation to assess mutual fit.

Stage 2:

If the initial discussion is positive, we will proceed to a second interview focusing on your skills, experience, and personal attributes, including a culture fit assessment.

Stage 3:

Finally, we aim to meet candidates face-to-face to foster a more personal interaction, typically through an informal coffee meeting with team members.

If you believe this role aligns with your expertise, we look forward to receiving your application.
