We are seeking a dynamic Head of People and Culture to join our team of 50-60 colleagues, based in our Central London HQ.

We have built robust HR policies, processes, and practices, and we are now keen to broaden our scope and provide additional focus on People and Culture, building People capabilities and focusing on our inclusive culture.

This role is critical in ensuring that One Young World continues to attract, develop, and retain top talent while making One Young World a place where people can thrive.

This is a standalone role, leading and managing all aspects of a People function, with 0.Talent Acquisition & Management

Run the recruitment process to attract and hire diverse and high-calibre talent, with particular focus on candidates at the early stages of their careers.

Provide effective onboarding, training, and development programs to ensure new hires feel at home quickly and existing colleagues develop their careers.

Employee Engagement & Culture
Cultivate a positive culture that promotes employee engagement, well-being, and retention.
Performance Management
Build on our existing performance management processes to ensure clear expectations, regular feedback, and effective performance reviews.
Support managers and leaders in addressing performance issues, driving a high-performance culture.
Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion
Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts across the organisation, supporting the DEI Committee in their work.
Compliance & Policies
Ensure all People policies and procedures align with legal and regulatory requirements.
Regularly review, update, and create policies to reflect standard processes and a forward thinking approach.
HR Operations

Manage People operations, including contract administration for employees and contractors, updating employee records using BreatheHR and providing employee payroll information to the Finance team.

Provide regular update reports to senior management to help with forward planning and decision making.
Employee Relations
Manage employee relations to ensure a positive and collaborative work environment.
Manage multiple projects and ensure efficient use of resources and manage budgets effectively.
Visa Management
Handle employee visas and visa sponsorships, maintaining compliance with immigration laws and regulations.
Support international employees throughout the visa application and renewal processes.
Safeguarding

Be responsible for our safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety of circa 2000 international young adults attending the One Young World Summit, particularly vulnerable individuals.

Experience of working in a fast-paced, hard-working, environment focused on exceptional performance.
Demonstrable experience of providing visible, inclusive, and collaborative leadership in the People and culture space.
Experience of leading diversity, inclusion, and equity initiatives, that have delivered tangible outcomes.
A coaching and influencing style that encourages new and innovative ways of working.
Solid knowledge of HR standard processes, employment laws, and regulations.
Building young leaders' expertise and capacity to act

5 hour week (Monday-Friday) office based, however for nine months of the year (outside of the three months leading up to One Young World's annual Summit) the organisation operates a "Flexible Fridays" policy - provides flexibility to employees on a Friday assuming there are no urgent matters that require their attention.
