As a result, we are seeking an experienced and ambitious individual to provide leadership and management of the Capital Projects team, to ensure timely and efficient delivery of the capital programme alongside the development of the intelligent client role for our larger scale portfolio.

You should also feel comfortable in providing guidance and direction to consultant teams employed on the larger and more sophisticated projects.

This role is key to achieving the Trust's ambitions as set out in the Estates Strategy and an influential part of the Estates leadership team.

The role offers a great career opportunity to lead a team in the delivery of world class healthcare facilities across one of the UK's recognised NHS Trusts.

  • Ensuring all relevant criteria are considered when assessing the overall impact and value of the project. Maintaining an accurate record of tasks, plans, risks, status, costs, and specification changes.
  • Act as an ambassador for Estates and to develop the reputation of Estates within the organisation, by delivering efficient and highquality capital projects.
  • Use/develop project documentation, associated procedures, and processes to ensure projects are appropriately documented.
  • Proactively support the achievement of trust business objectives through the Estates strategy and through identification of opportunities for improvement of process, both management and clinical.
  • Develop/participate in the compilation of Business Cases (both Outline and Final) as and when required, with Trust colleagues that demonstrate improvement in quality and effectiveness of services and are consistent with the strategic/business aims of the Trust

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital has circa 500 beds, 28 wards and serves a population of around 278,800 people who are living in three counties of Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire.

We have begun our journey of improvement, to turnaround the Trust from one with an 'inadequate' rating (and in special measures) from the Care Quality Commission to one our local communities can be proud of.

Our 2,818-strong workforce is committed to working together with partners to make the sustainable changes required of us to consistently deliver the safe and high
- quality care our patients can expect of us and there are already signs of progress.

Please see attached Job Description and Person Specification for further information about this role.

  • Set budget estimates for capital development schemes, ensuring value for money through appropriate budgetary control mechanisms and efficient operational and working methods.
  • Assist in the formation of an Estate Strategy and its updating.
  • Throughout the Capital schemes, actively seek and implement energy saving and income generation schemes to contribute to the Trusts cost improvement and efficiency plan. Contribute to the Trust energy/carbon targets through new schemes.
