we are looking for a Mechanical and Electrical Fit Out Operative for a client in Edinburgh.


As a Mechanical and Electrical Fitout operator, your primary responsibility is to assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems within various structures, such as commercial buildings, residential complexes, or industrial facilities.

You will work under the direction of senior technicians or project managers to ensure that all systems are installed correctly and operate efficiently.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the installation of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), plumbing, electrical wiring, and lighting fixtures.
  • Follow blueprints, technical drawings, and instructions provided by senior technicians or project managers to ensure accurate installation and alignment of systems.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of mechanical and electrical equipment to identify any issues or potential problems.
  • Perform repairs on malfunctioning equipment or systems, including troubleshooting electrical circuits, replacing wornout components, and adjusting mechanical parts.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during all installation and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including plumbers, electricians, and HVAC technicians, to complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed, including maintenance logs, repair reports, and equipment inventory.
  • Provide assistance and support during equipment testing and commissioning phases to ensure proper functionality.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments and technologies in mechanical and electrical systems to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper storage of tools and equipment.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience in construction, mechanical, or electrical work is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and components.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Strong attention to detail and problemsolving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual tasks and work in various environments.
  • Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively with customers to provide information about products or services
  • Utilize selling skills to promote products and increase sales
  • Demonstrate strong organisational skills to maintain a tidy work environment
