Sales Representative

Newark (Outskirts), Full Time, Permanent

Up to £30,000 DOE


This is an exciting opportunity for a
Sales Representative to join a long-established, profitable and market-leading business based on the outskirts of Newark.

This role is being offered on a full time, permanent basis and provides an excellent opportunity for career development over a period of time.


THE ROLE
Initially commencing as internal sales, you will be required to proactively respond to customer requests and orders.

Following a period of extensive training, the successful Sales Representative will move onto supporting Key Customer Accounts and potentially, sales management.

Further to the above, this is a busy and varied role will include the following key duties:

  • Service existing accounts, obtaining orders, and establishing new accounts by planning and organising daily work schedule to call on existing or potential customers.
  • Be responsible for meeting sales targets of the specific customer group through effective planning and budgeting.
  • Support customers' requirements with the ability to evaluate the specification of products.
  • Maintain sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.
  • Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management.
  • Build and promote strong, longlasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.
  • Meet with customers to discuss their evolving needs and to assess the quality of our company's relationship with them.
  • Support procurement department with accurate demand forecast.

THE CANDIDATE
The successful
Sales Representative will ideally be able to demonstrate:

  • Ideally 3-5 years' experience in B2B Sales (ideally in engineering or manufacturing) or alternatively, 3-5 years' engineering experience with a keen desire to move into sales management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in setting and exceeding sales goals.
  • Resultsoriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of commercial processes.
