What defines this business?

Zanda is backing a B2B SaaS scaleup based in London that has recently completed its Series B funding round. Their technology is bringing in revenue through multiple enterprise contracts, and they are now starting a strategic growth journey.

The CFO and the wider leadership team are now in search of a Director of Finance and Operations for a newly established role within the company. They are looking for a finance leader with strong technical skills, exceptional communication, and leadership abilities to join the team. The main objective is to enhance insights and support in finance operations, payroll, and employee rewards and benefits. This role will be pivotal in steering the company towards sustainable growth.

The perfect candidate will relish a diverse, hands-on position collaborating with colleagues on a daily basis to structure the most effective finance operations and payroll function.

Main Duties:

  • Collaborate with the CFO and the executive team to implement more efficient processes and controls across financial operations, payroll, and employee benefits.
  • Take the lead in developing a strategic roadmap for the financial operations, payroll, and employee benefits functions.
  • Establish, oversee, and present the company's financial business model, guiding the company and serving as a centerpiece for future fundraising activities.
  • Assist the CFO throughout all stages of potential M&A processes.
  • Lead business budgeting and forecasting to aid short, medium, and long-term business and cashflow planning in cooperation with all major stakeholders.
  • Analyze and evaluate performance metrics, setting up relevant KPI & SaaS metrics reporting.
  • Provide support to the broader leadership team in achieving their targets and work together to achieve business objectives, including detailed product and customer analytics.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
  • Summarize budget trends, analyze shortcomings, and report discrepancies to executives.
  • Play a significant role in presenting proposals on commercial opportunities as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, CPA, or ACCA).
  • Prior experience in a startup, scaleup, or high-growth SME.
  • Leadership qualities to motivate and guide various stakeholders, fostering innovation.
  • Tech-savvy, proactive mindset, and a collaborative approach.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while delivering top-notch work with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in intricate HR and Finance concepts.
  • Proven track record in managing global payroll and benefits operations.
  • Strong understanding of standard finance and accountancy best practices.
  • Extensive knowledge of budgeting and financial forecasting.
  • Business-oriented with a proactive, hands-on demeanor.
