Responsibility of the Patient Pathway Team and act as a role model by having extensive knowledge of all referral and clinical pathways.

Undertaking Supervisory tasks as required during periods of unexpected absence to support the Patient Pathway Co-ordinators. Provide the Supervisors with support and direction, as required and maintain the Directory of Service.


Play a key role in planning of schedules to deliver activity, adapting these as capacity and demand fluctuates to achieve local and national standards.

Also providing support and guidance to the Supervisors with scheduling and capacity planning, escalating any concerns to the Head of Operations & Performance.

Support the Supervisors and Site Seniors with the weekly ops meetings, escalating to the Head of Operations.

Identify and escalate any risks to service delivery along with recommended solutions to the Head of Operations & Performance and senior management.


Support the Head of Operations and Performance with the efficient and effective day to day running of the pathways, ensuring they are adapted to suit best practice, ever changing demands, and are responsive to the delivery of key operational performance targets.

Work with the Admin Team, Clinicians, Managers, and external stakeholders to deliver change and improvements.

Support the production of simple business plans / business cases to support development within the services under the leadership of the Head of Operations and Performance.

In addition, you will need to manage competing demands on your time managing day to day operational issues including all patient and clinician service issues, overseeing of admin team rotas.


Have a hands-on approach to dealing with service issues and challenges within the referral and patient clinical pathways and be the first point of contact for clinician and staff queries, working closely with the Matrons, Lead Nurses and Head of Operations and Performance.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Marketing & Communications Officer to lead our marketing initiatives to support our business objectives and drive growth.


Main Responsibilities:

Act as Line Manager for direct reports with responsibility for recruitment and selection decisions, regular staff appraisals, managing sickness absence, disciplinary and grievance matters, personal and career development and departmental workload and allocation.


Promote a culture where staff feel empowered and accountable for the service they provide, seeking service improvements and delivering their agreed individual and group objectives; and one where staff are supported to lead, motivate and develop staff who feel valued.

Ensure robust management of all staff including supporting and developing the Supervisors with appraisal planning and delivery.

Performance Management:

Support the Head of Operations and Performance, Clinicians, and other senior staff with the implementation of any changes required to improve efficiency leading to the achievement of both IHG and contractual targets.

Validate data from different sources and monitor performance accordingly to ensure accuracy and consistency in line with key performance targets.

To establish robust mechanisms for monitoring progress against the achievement of departmental KPI targets. Undertake capacity planning using appropriate capacity and demand tools to enable proactive compliance with RTT and other performance targets.

Operational Management:
To support with the operational management of the outpatient and theatre sessions, implementation of key process changes. Utilise clinical specialty/admin pathway experience to provide practical support to Head of Operations & Performance.


Ensure the team follows departmental policies and procedures, Support the Supervisors to ensure team roster maximises efficiency and equity of workload.

Monitor all capacity requirements for outpatients and surgery, ensuring that capacity issues are highlighted as soon as possible with solutions identified where possible, before escalating to the Head of Operations and Performance.

To support the Supervisors ensuring a quality and patient focused administration function is in place.

Work closely with governance leads to ensure all complaints, incidents and quality standards are managed appropriately and assist with spot check audits where required.


To promote a positive image of IHG services through being responsible for ensuring the administration team provide excellent customer service to patients, relatives/carers, and external stakeholders, demonstrating a commitment to putting patients first in line with IHG values.
