Early Help Practitioner

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has the skills that will enable us to continue to enhance our practices and improve outcomes for children further. We are looking for bright, enthusiastic people who have the passion and the drive to make a positive difference to children's lives.

You will ben the lead professional for children in receipt of Early Help support, assessing their needs via the Early Help Assessment and reviewing progress via Team Around the Child Meetings. You may also deliver parenting courses as part of your role.

This is a 12 month fixed-term, full time contract position.

About the role

As an Early Help Practitioner you will be expected to deliver all aspects of high quality provision of support to children and families to improve outcomes for children and their families. You will need to have a strong commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people. You will need to have a strong emphasis on solution focused thinking.

As an Early Help Practitioner for Achieving for Children, you will be responsible for:

Managing an agreed caseload of children and young people in compliance with casework objectives Working within departmental policy and timeframes Maintaining the highest Professional standards at all times Undertaking Early Help Assessments, coordinating and leading on pathways of support through Team around the Child meetings; undertaking direct work with children and their families and creating individualised Early Help plans in collaboration with children and families

About you

To be an Early Help Worker for AfC, you will be passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people as well as demonstrating the following:

An ability to build effective relationships with children, young people and families. You will have good verbal and listening skills when working with families, encouraging the voice of the child and acting professionally when faced with difficult situations. You will have experience of keeping and maintaining records You will demonstrate an ability to recognise professional limitations and seek advice and support from other professionals to resolve challenges and work in a solution focused manner. Strong organisational abilities including: time management, creative-thinking, problem-solving, multitasking, an ability to use your own initiative and to prioritise workloads to meet agreed deadlines. Personal determination, drive and ambition to overcome obstacles, achieve challenging objectives, celebrate success and deliver excellent outcomes for children. Good communication and interpersonal skills that are open, honest, persuasive and pragmatic, including negotiation and influencing skills.
