About the Role:
We are looking to for a
Personal Care Assistantto support a mature adult who has a diagnosis of autism and is an amputee with visits out to local areas (Ringwood, Wimborne etc) to undertake shopping tasks and engage in social communication over coffee.
The role will also include light housework duties and should the individual not be able to leave his home, due to temporary mobility issues, befriending him.
The role will include supporting the individual both physically and emotionally.The individual is highly intelligent, has a good sense of humour and likes punctuality and consistency with the people who support him.
The role will include use of your own car (petrol paid in addition to hourly rate) and physical ability to manoeuvre collapsible mobility equipment (i.e.
mobility scooter).Day & Times - Saturday mornings (10-2pm)

Job purpose:
To assist with a variety of tasks which will enable the person who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.
About the individual:
The gentleman is a mature adult, an amputee with a diagnosis of autism. His personal interests include reading, the sciences and walking (when able) and visits out to local shopping areas.
The individual is highly intelligent, has a good sense of humour and attempts to be as socially independent as is possible.
The individual lives alone and often require assistance with a mobility scooter and trips to the local shopping areas (Ringwood, Wimborne, Castle Point).
If the individual is unable to leave his home due to health issues, the role will include befriending him and light housework duties.
Rate of pay:
Hours of work:
Saturday mornings 10-2pm (can be slightly flexible)
Main duties
Social duties:
- Accompanying individual to local areas for shopping, library etc
- Ensuring individual has all his basic needs for the weekend
Personal Care:
No personal care required
Domestic duties:
- support with grocery shopping, personal items, clothing
- light household chores/cleaning
These duties may vary slightly from day-to-day
