OverviewnEverest People Solutions are recruiting for a Production Supervisor for a business based in Spalding.

As the Production Supervisor, you will oversee and manage a designated production area, ensuring that customer orders are fulfilled promptly and cost-effectively while minimising waste.

This role requires adherence to customer quality specifications and health and safety guidelines. Additionally, it involves providing leadership and management to production employees. While team sizes, machinery, and product complexity may vary, the core responsibilities of all Area Controller roles remain consistent.


Key Duties & Responsibilities for the Production SupervisornDevelop, monitor, and control the daily plan to efficiently use resources and fulfil customer orders to require productivity and quality standards.nEnsure production orders/runs use stock in rotation, consume all material within KBS, allocate labour to lines, and close jobs upon completion.

Raise any issues to the Production Manager.nCreate and review daily staff rotas, allocate staff to production lines for optimal skill mix, and ensure sufficient weekend cover.nAssign work to each line at the start of the day and conduct initial reviews to ensure smooth operations.nMonitor actual performance and quality against customer specifications, identify problems, and take corrective actions to meet quality and productivity targets.nInvestigate and respond to Commercial/Technical staff inquiries to address customer issues promptly.nLead, motivate, and control staff to achieve work objectives.nEnsure operations are conducted safely and without harm to employees or others.nConduct risk assessments, regular inspections, and audits, ensuring timely closure of actions.nDocument and investigate all accidents, incidents, and near misses.nProvide adequate information, instruction, training, and supervision to employees.nUtilise and promote short interval controls to manage operational costs and minimise non-value-added activities.nDetermine overtime needs and set priorities when resources are insufficient.nSuggest changes to improve processes, timelines, and efficiency while reducing costs.nEnsure products conform to quality standards while maintaining cost efficiency.nResponsible for training and development, timekeeping, and assigning work to meet deadlinesnManage absence, disciplinary meetings, and return-to-work conversations.nProvide cover for the Production Manager during absences.

nComply with all relevant company policies and procedures, including Health, Safety & Wellbeing, Environmental, Technical, Equal Opportunities, Diversity & Dignity at Work, and Hygiene policies

Requirements for the Production Supervisor:

nEssential:nPrevious supervisory or management experience.nIOSHH Managing Safely certification.nStrong IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.nAbility to positively influence and build strong relationships at all organisational levels.nExcellent attention to detail.nEffective time management skills.nProven experience in developing and being fully accountable for their team and areas of responsibility.nDemonstrable knowledge of quality and technical standards.nExperience managing KPIs across multi-disciplinary production lines.nComprehensive understanding and management of GMP, health, and safety within their areas.nResponsibility for introducing, embedding, and maintaining all established and new processes and procedures.nEnsures timely completion of payroll.nCoordinates maintenance activities with minimal impact on production operations.
