Job Description

As a User Researcher you'll:

  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, developers, and fellow User Researchers to plan and conduct impactful research that enhances our understanding of our clients' users.
  • Contribute to the development of superior products and services that address user issues and fulfill their requirements.
  • Take charge of the research initiatives for your team, proposing the most effective approaches and methodologies to gather the relevant user insights.
  • Organize and execute qualitative studies, encompassing remote and face-to-face interviews, observations, diary studies, concept testing, and usability studies.
  • Leverage quantitative methods like surveys to pinpoint actionable insights and cooperate with the analytics team to enrich qualitative insights.
  • Delve into the complete user journey and external influences that may affect user experience, including business, policy, and technical limitations.
  • Convey research discoveries and involve your team in analysis and synthesis to foster empathy with users and facilitate data-driven design decisions.
  • Aid in instilling user-centered design and user research best practices within teams and across the broader business.

As a segment of your responsibilities, you'll also get the chance to contribute to the company and your personal development through activities falling into the following categories:

  • Business Progress - Spearheading/contributing to proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, contributing to client pitches, and hosting clients at events.
  • Internal Contribution - Campaign formation, internal brainstorming sessions, whitepapers, practice development (operations, recruitment, team events & activities), and offering development.
  • Learning & Growth - Training programs to support your career advancement and fulfill the skill requirements within the company, certifications, etc.

Your Expertise:

Essential

  • Practical experience in leading user research, employing behavioral and attitudinal methods and knowing when to apply them correctly.
  • Engagement across various stages of a product or service life cycle, starting from exploration and discovery to design and delivery.
  • You either possess SC (Security Check) Clearance or have the ability to be eligible for this level of clearance (by residing in the UK for a minimum of 3 years and not being away from the country beyond 6 consecutive months during this period).
  • Proficiency in adhering to Government Digital Service (GDS) service standards and utilizing GDS design principles.
  • Strong storytelling, communication, stakeholder management, and facilitation abilities.
  • Experience working in diverse, agile teams where you've spearheaded user research and influenced product or service design based on the insights you've gathered.
  • Acquaintance with utilizing prototypes to assess hypotheses, assumptions, and validate user journeys.
  • Familiarity with a variety of tools and methodologies for in-person and remote research.
