Salary:
Weekday hours: £18.00 per hour, sleeping night £10.42 per hour and double time for bank holidays

Hours: 35 per week

We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic, reliable individual, who has a positive outlook, to work within our team. They will be required to support our client in his home within the Darton area of Barnsley. You will be working with our 11-year-old client who has complex needs both physically and sensory.

You will lead on the client's care, support and rehabilitation and manage a small team of support workers.

DUTIES:

Your duties will include:

  • Lead and manage the current care team. Including formulating rotas and providing staff supervision.
  • Lead on and manage the supplies for the client such as medication, PPE, continence products etc.
  • Providing personal care for the client, managing his household tasks and meal planning/prep etc.
  • Initiating a range of fun and stimulating activities and supporting him with activities which will endeavour to meet his sensory needs.
  • Finding suitable local activities and planning trips out.
  • Providing therapeutic activities, such as those recommended by his team of rehabilitation therapists to develop skills.
  • Support in attending hospital and therapy appointments.
  • Liaising with support team, case manager, school and family.
  • Providing on call duties for the staff team.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Experience in managing staff with the ability to confidently challenge when required.

Experience in supporting children with cerebral palsy and/or loss of sight would be desirable.

Skills:

Able to provide high standard of personal care, be proactive, a good communicator, able to work on own initiative, being organised and are able to be very flexible and reliable.


Salary:
Weekday hours: £18.00 per hour, sleeping night £10.42 per hour and double time for bank holidays.

Special Requirements:
Car driver essential.
