South London team.


As a Waste Contract Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring operational performance, in terms of safety and customer service of the Municipal Contract, in line with company policy, procedures and contractual commitments.

It doesn't matter if you're looking to overhaul the industry, or just do a good day's work.

What will you be doing?

  • Maintain current budgeted revenue and, when possible, identify opportunities to maximise productivity and cost control, introduce efficiency and increase revenue in order to enhance growth and increase the profile of the organisation.
  • To be responsible for implementing a health and wellbeing culture that improves productivity and reduces lost work hours due to sickness, accidents or injury.
  • Manage the resources of that contract in such a way to maximise profitability, legal compliance and safety performance in line with the customer expectations.
  • Provide statistical information for Budget preparation and have full responsibility for P&L.
  • Complete monthly reporting to the Regional Manager, reporting financial variances.
  • Deal with Fleet compliance.
  • Strong understanding of the Environmental Protection act, the clean neighbourhoods and environment act and other relevant legislation.
  • Responsible for performance of the contract and to ensure full compliance with relevant legislation and company specific requirements.
  • Lead management team to increase levels of staff engagement within the team in line with Veolia's vision and values.
  • Create and maintain a professional relationship with all officers of the council in order to promote the organisation and increase the performance of the contract in order to meet contractual commitments.

What are we looking for?

  • Waste management experience essential.
  • NEBOSH / CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) are a job requirement, and training will be given.
  • COTC desirable
  • Experience in working with a public sector client.
  • Experience of contract management, managing a P&L and all relevant cost centres.
  • Good management skills, including both motivation and disciplinary skills.
