Job Description
We currentlyhave an exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport professionalto join our Market Drayton site as Transport Team Leader.
Thesuccessful candidate will be responsible in overseeing the TransportOperations team to ensure the operation is running in the mostefficient way. This site in Market Drayton operations with a fleetsize of 30 units, 70 trailers and has a headcount of 80-90 driverswith volume rapidly increasing.
Salary: £34,421 perannum.
Working hours: Sunday to Thursday, 22:00 - 06:30*Flexibility is required for holiday cover*.
Key Duties ofTransport Team Leader:
  • To allocate both drivers andvehicles to loads in the most efficient way, taking into accountholidays and sickness, drivers hours and WTD regulations.
  • Effective communication with the planning team and otherdepots to optimise resource across the network and achieve the mostefficient plan.
  • Planning driver start times to meet the sitesdespatch KPI.
  • Proactively communicate with third partyhauliers to ensure collection times are adhered to from site.
  • Maintaining clear and effective communication with drivers,communicating accurate start times, load information, directions.
  • Ensure orders are despatched and delivered in the rightcondition in line with customer specifications.
  • Communicatewith the collection or delivery points to advice of any delays.
  • Maintaining good morale, reporting any driver's issues orconcerns to management. In turn, communicating any operational changesthat may affect a driver's daily duties.
  • Manage the integrityof the transport system functionality (housekeeping).
  • Thislist is not exhaustive and the successful candidate may be required tocarry out other duties.
Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills in order to deliveraccurate information.
  • The ability to work efficiently andaccurately under pressure.
  • Able to work as part of a team orindividually.
  • Knowledge & experience of tachograph / drivingrules and regulations.
  • CPC National desirable but notessential.
  • Attention to detail / accuracy.
  • Planningand organising skills, high level of numeracy.
  • Good IT skillsincluding Microsoft office packages.
  • Transport experienceideally in a FMCG environment.
