School Catering Assistant

Shifts: Monday - Friday 10:00-14:00
Contract type: Temporary
Start date: ASAP

We are currently looking for a catering assistant to work in a school canteen. This is a great opportunity for an individual with previous experience in catering to work within school hours. This role does require a full Child Enhanced DBS (or you must be willing to undergo one - we can support with this process but a small cost to you)

Your duties will include:

  • General assistant duties
  • Ensuring cleanliness of the kitchen at all times
  • Assisting with serving lunches
  • Following all health and safety procedures
  • Keeping surfaces clean and tidy
  • Clearing tables
  • Operating tills
  • Food preparation


The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a DBS and min Level 1 food hygiene
  • Be able to work within a fast-paced environment
  • Be punctual
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Able to multi-task
  • Able to work well both in a team and independently
  • Polite and friendly
  • Able to build good relationships
  • Have great customer service skills


Travelling:
Ideally you will have your own transport but there are bus routes in the area - please check your local services before applying.

Main requirements:

  • DBS (Enhanced Child workforce)
  • Food&Hygiene level 1 (we can process one for you for free)
  • Own transport
  • Previous catering experience
  • Knowledge of health and safety within a kitchen environment
