School Caretaker Position at Imperial Recruitment Group

We are excited to inform you about a vacant School Caretaker role at a School in Bolton. The school is currently seeking someone to join their team on a temporary basis to cover long-term sickness.

Salary: Negotiable

Contract Type: Temporary

Location: Bolton

Hours: Flexible

Purpose of the Role

The School Caretaker plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for all school users. They are responsible for overseeing the site, ensuring high standards of supervision, and optimizing available resources to create an ideal learning atmosphere for both students and staff members.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of the Site team and regular coordination with the Business Manager to facilitate effective communication
  • Delegation of tasks within the Site team based on skills and availability
  • Regular checks for potential Health and Safety issues on the premises with prompt corrective actions
  • Documentation and maintenance of records for Fire Safety and Water safety checks
  • Conducting risk assessments and necessary actions for any onsite concerns
  • Management of works schedule to ensure operational efficiency of the site
  • Tracking and documentation of completed tasks while prioritizing necessary work
  • Managing minibus procedures and ensuring all required checks are completed
  • Adherence to budget constraints and discussing financial matters with the Finance Director
  • Monitoring energy and water consumption to promote efficiency
  • Induction of contractors on safety procedures and regulations during visits
  • Ensuring cleanliness standards are met both internally and externally
  • Adherence to Health and Safety regulations when moving academy furniture
  • Addressing site-related emergencies or closures with minimal disruption
  • Rapid restoration of site accessibility after emergencies for staff and students
  • Providing additional support during staffing shortages
  • Liaising with emergency services when necessary and managing security procedures for the premises
  • Responsible for opening and closing the premises as needed for various functions and maintenance
  • Regular checks on alarms and fire equipment to ensure operational readiness
  • Compliance with letting procedures as per instructions

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Completion of necessary checks including holding an Enhanced DBS with Child Barring
  • Adherence to GDPR and Data Protection Regulations while maintaining confidentiality
