THE ROLE
- Procurement of goods and materials in line with production needs
- Working closely with the Production Planner to ensure materials are available to support the production plan
- Monitoring of product prices and updating accordingly, seeking out more economical alternatives where possible
- Holding suppliers accountable for quality and nonconformance issues via use of nonconformance reports and associated investigations
- Managing record keeping of stock on MS Excel system
- Investigation of any product quality issues and providing successful resolution
- Ensuring that stock of all items across the site are effectively rotated
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Experience of leading a purchasing function within in a manufacturing setting
- Proven ability to manage supplier quality issues and manage through to a successful conclusion
- Strong IT skills to include Microsoft Excel
- Good written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively across clerical and production teams
- Ability to prioritise workloads effectively across a broad range of tasks
