However, there is still a lot to do, and we have a strong appetite for continuous learning and improvement, further modernisation and innovation.
To help us deliver against our top priorities, we have created a new Corporate Programme Management Office (CPMO) to provide programme management oversight, co-ordination, assurance, challenge and support on the major projects.
The CPMO will complement existing project delivery capacity within services and make a real difference by championing new and improved ways of working, providing greater focus, grip, delivery, value for money and learning across the Council's strategic programmes.
The CPMO is currently made up of one Programme Manager and one Programme Officer. We are now looking to add one more Programme Officer to our team.The CPMO model is new to the Council, so this is a unique opportunity for the new team to shape this service from conception to reality, to design and deliver something that is bespoke, and to make a valued and meaningful difference for the Council and the people of South Tyneside
The Council's 'programme' includes a hugely diverse portfolio of work, from major infrastructure and regeneration projects to new models of delivery and service improvement work in social care and health, as well as internal modernisation work associated with culture change, organisational development, service re-design and internal governance and processes.
The CPMO will therefore have oversight across all these areas and will involve very interesting, varied and strategically important work, providing excellent experience and development opportunities for those involved.
