About the Role
We have a full-time vacancy for a suitable candidate to join our Joint Research Management Office.
The post holder will be a member of the Costing and Contracts team working closely with the Head of Costing and Contracts and the Heads of Services within JRMO for a wide range of contractual negotiations. The Research & Innovation Costing and Contracts Manager (RICCM) will take a leading role in the delivery of an effective and efficient service for the management of research costing and contracts for QMUL's three faculties and Bart's Health NHS Trust. The RICCM will provide expert guidance on the management on research costing and contracts for academic and professional service staff across QMUL and Bart's Health NHS Trust. They will be responsible for drafting, negotiating and authorising signature of research contracts, with agreed service levels determined by the Head of Costing and Contracts. The post reports to the Head of Costing and Contracts.
About You
The ideal candidate will have a strong legal or financial background. They must have excellent communication, organisation and time-management skills and demonstrate a strong team-work ethic. This role demands the holder to work on their own initiative and can manage several projects at once. Previous experience in a similar environment would be advantageous.

The Joint Research Management Office (JRMO) supports researchers across Queen Mary, University of London and Bart's Health NHS Trust.
Our highly trained team is on hand to support a diverse range of research activities, from getting a project off the ground to ensuring its smooth running and future development. The team members understand where their work fits into the strategic plans and goals of the organisations.
Our services include:
- Accurate project costing
- Tender/application preparation and advice
- Assisting with the approvals process
- Ongoing financial management of grants and awards
- Consultancy and research contracts
- Assistance with ethics applications.
- Assistance with Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Agency applications
