Barnardo's and Amazon have joined together in partnership to deliver the JOBS Project which aims to support and transform the lives of young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) in the Tilbury Essex area.

The aim of the programmeis to equip young people 16-29 with the skills, confidence and ambition to pursue their goals of finding employment, apprenticeships or further education and training.

The Administration Assistant is part of a small staff team which shares an office on site. This role will also remotely support the team in Coventry, who are also running the JOBS Project.

This role will provide key administrative support to the team to:

  • Provide a welcoming telephone and face to face reception service for all young people and visitors.
  • Assist the Children's Service Manager with financial processes and management (e.g. maintaining petty cash, processing invoices, staff expenses and travel allowance for learners)
  • Coordinate diaries, arrange meetings, type reports and take minutes
  • Input data, organise filing system and develop and maintain records for learners, both electronically and manually
  • Ensure all Safeguarding and Health and Safety requirements are maintained
  • Assist in the organisation of events and activities as required.

  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Well organised and the ability to manage workloads
  • A team focused approach to work
  • IT literate
  • A keen eye for detail
This role is based in East Tilbury.

Contract ends 31st March 2024 with an annual review of funding,
