JOB ROLE


As a Stitch Artisan within The Handbag Clinic, you will use existing and built-upon leather stitch practices to carry out a refined list of restorative services within our Atelier.

This includes replacing zips, handcrafting bespoke leather pieces, creating new handles, replacing linings and panels - ensuring every item is brought back to its former glory.


  • With the main portion of the role being at the stitch workbench, a strong and organised work ethic is essential.
  • Strong problemsolving skills will be required for all tasks. You will also enjoy working both individually and collaboratively with the team.
  • You will also bring experience of managing workflow, meeting targets and meeting deadlines.
  • A positive, helpful, and courteous attitude towards colleagues, being reliable and supportive.
  • A strong eye for detail and a willingness to learn.
  • Experience in hand sewing and the use of industrial sewing machines is essential.
  • Pattern cutting experience within either leather or garment construction.
  • Experience working with leather and different leather types.
  • Progressed their studies to degree level, preferably within fashion or têxtiles.


Please note that all applicants, even those with existing stitching experience, will undergo our in-house Training Programme to learn how to deliver on our services and to our high standards.
