HYBRID/REMOTE 1-2 DAYS A WEEK

Looking for someone who is highly experienced in a broad range of data science techniques using datacoding languages and analysis software to identify opportunities and make recommendations to deliver return on investment, improved customer engagement and opportunities for more efficient running of the organisation.

Being a senior member of our clients Data Science Team means you'll mentor and support your colleagues to deliver data and analytics strategy, so you'll strike a balance of being hands-on with data along with being a key contact and role model for your colleagues.


Your new role

The role requires a broad and strong network of colleagues at all levels across business to maintain engagement with the value of Data & Analytics and the requirement for robust governance processes.

Your new role will focus on establishing and ensuring adherenceto an enterprise Data & Analytics governance framework for policies, standards and practices in order to achieve the required level of consistency and quality to meet overall business needs.

This also entails embedding a culture of best practice of Data Governancealigning to DAMA framework.

Duties Include:

  • Proactively promoting the Data Catalogue and Data Quality tool
  • Ensuring the D&A Governance framework covers all environments including Cloud, BI, Analytics and the wider business areas (Mortgages, Investments and Savings)
  • Consulting and coaching stakeholders to shape and deliver plans in alignment with Data Governance & Data Management best practice and form a partnership, coordinating and monitoring the activities of Data Owners and Data Stewards
  • Identifying and addressing regulatory and legal/risk issues, including data retention requirements
  • Maintaining an effective, properly tested Disaster Recovery Plan for the Department to ensure the company's ongoing ability to serve customers in the event of a major interruption to business processes

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experienced in Data Catalogue tooling e.g. Collibra, Alation or similar technology as well as experience with both onprem and Cloud technology such as AWS and Azure would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of Data Privacy regulations and the impact on Development lifecycle especially within a Cloud environment with experience with contributing to DPIAs for new data feeds.
  • The ability to influence, engage and work in partnership with stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent understanding of the UK GDPR regulation specifically around PII and impact on the development lifecycle.
  • Exposure to independently interpreting and communicating complex and/or sensitive information with experience of working with both technical and nontechnical teams across a variety of business domains.
  • Experience in delivering change which improves business effectiveness in sustainable ways and experience of working with programmes and projects that have multiple workstreams.
