Main duties of the job This is an exciting opportunity to join a passionate pan Powys service supporting women with moderate to severe mental health illness during the perinatal period.

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic , clinically competent mental health nurse to join our team.

The post holder will work closely with members of the multidisciplinary team and other multiagency professionals across the county to provide evidence based advice, assessment , care and intervention, for women and their families during the perinatal period.

  • Qualified/ Registered Mental Health Nurse BSc degree in Nursing and or Diploma HE Nursing Mental Health
  • Evidence of Professional updating and development in the delivery of services
  • Qualification including for example EMDR, CBT, Family interventions, CAT, DBT, Phlebotomy

  • Non- medical prescriber
  • Qualification in providing training
Experience Essential
  • Ezperience of working with women experiencing perinatal mental health needs/ Knowledge of demographic risk factors for this group
  • Experience of clinically assessing, planning, co-ordinating and managing people with mental health problems in a community setting.
  • Evidence of extensive post registration experience working with adults experiencing mental health related difficulties.

  • Delivering training to a broad range of audiences
Aptitude and abilities Essential
  • Knowledge of various approaches to Mental health assessment.
  • Understanding of GAD7, PHQ9, CARRMS, Psychosocial interventions, PANNS,SWEMWBS, Lunsers, GASS and EPDS
  • Knowledge of care co-ordination, relevant legislation , guidance and the ability to organise, prioritise and monitor own workload.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with service users, carers , other agencies and professionals.
  • Ability to contribute to staff training and development.Ability to manage change and contribute to the development of services and involve service user and carers in service delivery improvements. Ability to contribute to the development of service policies and strategies.
