As we continue to grow, we are looking for an Advanced Bookkeeper to join our positive, dedicated, and enthusiastic team in our fast-growing business.

Due to business growth, a position for a full time Advanced Bookkeeper has arisen.

The role would suit a person who has an accountancy qualification or has a number of years of relevant industry experience.

Applicants must be capable of demonstrating their relevant skills or they will not be considered for this position. You will be based at our site in Foxton, Cambridgeshire.

About you

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Data collation.
  • Using Techman (Workshop Management System) to gather and upload invoices & receipts (preferred).
  • Credit control and handling late payments.
  • Working within established processes and key performance indicators.
  • Verifying the accuracy of business accounts and alerting the accountant of errors and investigating variations.
  • Bank reconciliation.
  • Other ad hoc duties as required.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Preparing financial reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising account information.
  • Working with the company's accountants to assist with the yearly accounts.
  • Assisting with departmental budgets.
  • Assisting with production of monthly financial statements including cash flow, P&L and balance sheets and reporting to our directors on the important financial metrics of the business when needed.

Role Requirements

  • IT literacy: Able to confidently use Xero (use of other Accounting Software may be considered), MS Word, Excel and Outlook to a basic standard e.g., Able to create letters from scratch, use spread sheets to capture, update and store data in a clear and logical manner from scratch.
  • Fluent English language skills: spoken and written in a clear, caring, courteous and professional manner.
  • Excellent organisation skills with respect to logical filing and record keeping both paper and electronic.
  • Selfmotivated, proactive, and friendly team player.
  • Ability to work independently under supervision. Capable of handling our bookkeeping autonomously without the need for continuous support.
  • Ability to produce work to high standards and a high level of accuracy and work under pressure to meet required deadlines.
  • Have a 'can do' and 'will do' attitude every day.
  • The ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
  • Attention to detail in relation to office administration duties essential for the job.
  • Taking ownership and accept responsibility for own obligations.

Experience/Education:

  • Bookkeeping: 3 years (required).
  • Xero Accounting software: 2 years (required). (Use of other Accounting Software may be considered).
  • Accountancy qualification: (preferred).
  • 5 GCSE's or equivalent and at least 2 A-Levels or equivalent (required).
  • Experience in Bookkeeping within the motor trade (preferred).

Schedule:

Full time, permanent hours: 40 hours per week.

Six-month probationary period, after which the role will be permanent.

No weekends.

Salary:
£31,200.00, dependant on experience.
