Key Accountabilities:
- Source and procure engineering materials and services efficiently and cost-effectively following Company procedures.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders for services, goods, and materials.
- Develop project-specific purchasing strategies in collaboration with the Purchasing team.
- Evaluate new suppliers and ensure compliance.
- Participate in procurement planning to select suppliers promptly.
- Lead price negotiations with suppliers for cost reductions.
- Administer post-order processes and manage delegated scopes efficiently.
- Ensure proper use of the ERP system for procurement activities.
- Participate in progress meetings and represent the Supply Chain function as needed.
- Review purchase requirements and liaise effectively with project teams and suppliers.
- Manage direct reports within procurement teams, ensuring compliance with Company procedures.
- Ensure purchases comply with Company and statutory regulations.
Financial Accountabilities:
- The Senior Buyer has no financial accountability within Supply Chain Management.
- Validation of supplier invoices and progress approval by others.
- Final invoice approval by designated personnel.
Problem Solving:
- Manage multiple POs and commodities across projects and stakeholders efficiently.
- Expedite deliverable documents and maintain effective communication with stakeholders.
- Interrogate production schedules to monitor progress and identify risks.
- Provide updates and reports to key stakeholders to support construction activities.
Knowledge and Qualifications:
- Experience in expediting and purchasing roles, specifically for oil and gas projects.
- Familiarity with the local supply market and strong analytical skills.
- Proven negotiation and communication abilities.
- Team player with experience in meeting strict deadlines.
- Minimum 3 years of expediting experience in Supply Chain delivery for oil and gas projects.
Skills and Competencies:
- Effective negotiating skills and self-motivation.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Strong team player with the capacity to build vendor relationships.
- Assertive and persuasive with a proactive approach to project schedules.
- Flexibility to adapt to varying company and customer requirements.
- Promotes good business ethics and prioritizes safety.
- Proficient in MS Office and specific procurement systems like ORACLE.
