MailOnline, the world's largest English-language newspaper website with over 202 million unique monthly visitors globally, is looking for a talented
Assistant Editor/Channel Manager.


_ This role is based in our London newsroom and will require working flexible hours._

  • Deep knowledge of YouTube and Creator Studio
  • Extensive experience with YouTube metadata including creating headlines and thumbnails, and running livestreams
  • High proficiency in Adobe Premiere
  • Ability to script explainer and original content packages
  • Prior newsroom experience is essential
  • Experience of quick turnarounds, with multiple projects on your plate at any given moment
  • A solid understanding of social video platforms and formats
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of internet culture and wider digital video landscape

Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating key YouTube assets including thumbnails, headlines, descriptions
  • Editing videos both long and short form and optimizing them for social media consumption
  • Working alongside reporters and editors from the news desk to deliver topclass content to our audience
  • Procuring thirdparty assets
  • Researching, planning, and developing newsbased video content
  • Organising livestreams and utilising YouTube's Community tab
