Role:

As Finance Director, you will take overall control and responsibility for all financial aspects of the company. This is a critical role which will contribute to the success of the company.

It encompasses a wide ranging remit and so to be able to participatefully to the level expected, will involve a balance of hands on to high level strategic input.

Plus ability to effectively input across the differing functional and operational areas of the business.

You will play a fundamental role in developing the profitable future growth strategy of the business, working closely with the CEO and other board members.

This will involve combining your financial & accounting experience with that of commercial and operationalareas. In order to provide a comprehensive and well-rounded impact on the business.

This is not a desk bound role and you will be expected to actively engage and be involved across the business.

Therefore a general interest, particularly in a commercial and manufacturing dominant business is essential.

Due to the nature of the business, an ability to analyse and evaluate high levels of detailed information is also a pre-requisite of the role.


Responsibilities:

  • Work with the senior team to profitably grow the business, formulating strategies and plans
  • Lead and develop the finance team including a focus on succession planning and training & development
  • Challenge the business functions to maximise profitability and efficiency within their areas and as a business
  • Provide the relevant financial expertise in support of the senior team and wider business
  • Lead and manage the annual budgeting process, reforecasting process and weekly view process
  • Cash and Working capital management
  • Overall control of all financial transactions and accountancy matters
  • Ensure all reporting and close deadlines and timetables are effectively and efficiently achieved
  • Manage the group information requirements from a financial perspective
  • Lead the annual financial audit process and internal audit programs to ensure clean audit opinions are given and no material misstatements are identified
  • Develop the internal reporting metrics and mechanisms to optimize the usefulness and impact of these reports within the business
  • Lead the continuous improvement work around system and process development to ultimately create the ability to analyse the impact of commercial agreements easily and efficiently in real time.
  • Presentation of the performance of the business to the senior management team to ensure the Directors are understanding of the business performance and their areas, in sufficient detail to make informed management decisions based on the information communicated
  • Review of accounts and investigation of variances including setting recovery plans where appropriate
  • Take a leading role in the creation of the Quarterly BPR presentations to ensure financially business performance is adequately explained
  • Capital expenditure evaluation and preparation of submissions including management of the overall spend level to approved budgetary limits. Supervising the post appraisal review of the projects which fall within the scope
  • Close Involvement and overview with Sales and Commercial in new business negotiation and contract renewals for both Merchants and Developer business in line with current processes and practices
  • Ensuring that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met
  • Overseeing all accounting procedures and systems used by the Company.
  • Assessing the long term financial trends and review prospects for future growth of income and new product areas.
  • Ensuring the Company meets its financial and legal responsibilities.
  • Providing direction to your department.
  • Promoting the Company image at all times in a professional and positive manner.
  • Attending monthly board meetings and review meetings.
  • Directing the implementation of company plans as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent commercial and business experience
  • Significant experience of working in a Senior Finance role
  • Significant experience of working within a fast paced commercial, manufacturing business
  • Significant experience of working with very high volumes of data, and ability to effectively manage the analysis and reporting of this data
  • The ability to inspire, motivate and lead a team of significant size
  • Initiative, drive and enthusiasm
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • The ability to work calmly under pressure and tight deadlines
  • The ability to actively participate with main board directors
  • Good IT, budget and report writing skills
  • Be fully aware of the company rules and procedures as laid down in the company employee handbook
  • Significant managerial experience.
  • Senior level experience of corporate governance.
  • Legal experience in contract law would be helpful.
  • High level of skill in managing multiple activities and balancing workloads
  • Strong decision making skills

Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant ACA, ACCA or CIMA
  • A full UK Driving Licence is required

Package:

We are offer a competitive Salary & Package and salary will be between £75,000 to £90,000 depending on experience
